LOKRIS. Lokris Opuntii. Circa 360-350 BC. Stater (Silver, 24 mm, 11.85 g, 9 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of wheat leaves, pendant earring and a simple pearl necklace. Rev. OΠONTIΩN Ajax advancing to right, nude but for his helmet, holding sword in his right hand and shield ornamented with a griffin on the inside in his left; between his legs, Λ. BCD Lokris 60. Humphris & Delbridge Group 16, 131 (O20A/R44). Harshly cleaned and and corroded and with two scrapes on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
